Happy New Year to you all, I hope you have had a relaxing and somewhat ‘festive’ break over the last two weeks and I wish you all the very best for the forthcoming year.
There has been a huge amount of media coverage in the last few days with regards to pupils returning to schools in England.
Cullercoats Primary School will be open as normal tomorrow but the school and Governing Body will be following local and national developments very closely from today and over the next few days.
There is both anxiety and uncertainly regarding this new variant of Coronavirus and the school will be keeping in contact with PHE, the Local Authority and Professional Associations to ensure that the school is safe and secure for our pupils, staff and community.
Events and decisions can change quickly and we are asking parents to be prepared should action need to be taken swiftly for the health and safety of our pupils and staff.
Please keep a 2m distance on the yard and you are more than welcome to wear a face covering when on site to help protect others. Face coverings must be worn if you are entering the school building via the office.
Please refrain from bringing items into school. We understand a small bag may be needed to help carry packed lunches and store gloves, hats and scarves.
Together we must do all that we can to reduce the risk of transmission within our community.
Thank you for your help and support.
Mr Gavin Storey
