Our Nursery

Cullercoats Primary School established a Nursery and 'Croc' Wraparound facility for our nursery pupils in September 2017. Please see the link below on the 30 hour entitlement. For many years both the school and the community had wished for a Nursery provision here at Cullercoats and that wish is now a reality.

The school is able to support families within our area and build upon the excellent foundations that you have developed at home. It is our vision to provide high quality education and development for your child in a nurturing and caring environment where they can feel safe, supported and reach their full potential. Having a Nursery here at Cullercoats enables the school to develop meaningful and supportive relationships from the outset with families within our community so that we can work in partnership to encourage, support and motivate your child as they move through our school.

There will be a seamless transition into our Reception classes which will build upon your child’s early development and skills. Our aim is to prepare your child for the next stage in their learning so that they leave Cullercoats happy and ready for their High School education. The school will further support our many working families by offering before and after school care (Cullercoats Children's Club) to our pupils and a ‘wraparound’ facility for our youngest pupils (Cullercoats Crocs). The school has been, and looks set to remain, an integral part of the community.

We look forward to you and your child being part of our school and sharing our journey so that ‘Together – we can develop a love of learning’.

Entry to the Reception Year

We endeavour to provide a school environment in which the young child has access to many new experiences. The transfer from home, nursery or play group should be a happy experience.

There are opportunities for children and parents to visit our school. Please contact the office who will be happy to make an appointment for you to have a look around and get a feeling for the school.

All children are admitted to a reception class during the first half of the Autumn Term
of the academic year in which they attain their fifth birthday. Further details will be given to parents once they have completed an admission form. 60 places are available for Reception Year children at the school.

A parent who is considering applying for admission for their child to Cullercoats Primary School is invited to contact the school and make an appointment to visit, talk to the headteacher, and view the school.
